IMPORTANT REMINDERS

* Please consult the official build rules (car specifications), which are attached and available online at http://www.pack1191.org/ (on the Documents and Forms page). IN ADDITION, the leading edge of the car shall be no higher than ¾ (or 0.75) inch to rest behind the starting pin; as shown on the attached graphic, NOTHING can over-hang the starting pin.

* Cars must be marked with direction of travel.

* Scouts should pick a name for their car BEFORE registration.

* Leader, parent, and sibling cars can participate in racing, but will not be eligible for awards with the Scouts.

* If you are donating items for the bake sale, please only bring items that DO NOT CONTAIN NUTS, and please put them in baggies with one serving per baggie.

* New or gently used toys, games, books, and videos for the Blue & Gold Cubby Bucks sale will be collected on race day. Your donations greatly help reduce our cost of buying these toys outright. ANY donation is greatly appreciated!

REGISTRATION (American Legion, Friday January 26, 7:30 – 9:00 PM). Cars will be officially weighed, measured, and inspected for their compliance with rules. IF NEEDED, adjustment can be made to the car in an onsite work area; tools will be available and assistance provided. Cars that are in compliance will be put into the computer system and given a number. After a car is successfully registered, it is put into the impound lot and kept overnight until the race. PLEASE NOTE: A Scout should be present to register his car; if not possible, please notify a Leader in advance.

Registration is on FRIDAY NIGHT (by rank PREFERRED); cars are put in impound lot after registration:

* 7:30-7:45 Tigers

* 7:45-8:00 Wolves

* 8:00-8:15 Bears

* 8:15-8:30 Webelos I

* 8:30-8:45 Webelos II

* 8:45-9:00 “Last Call”

RACE DAY (American Legion, Saturday January 27, Arrival by 9:00 AM)

Our Pack meeting will begin promptly at 9:30 AM.  Racing will be followed by derby awards, which should conclude between 11:00 AM and 12:00 PM.

Bottled water and pizza slices (near the end of the race) will be available to purchase for $1.00; baked goods will be available for purchase for $0.50 to $1.00 per item. All proceeds from the bake sale will go to the National Capital Area’s Friends of Scouting (FOS) Campaign. Last year we raised over $180 for the FOS Campaign – let’s try to exceed that goal this year!

The top 3 Scouts from each class (or alternates) will be eligible to attend the FSK District Super Derby.  The 2018 Super Derby will be held on Saturday, March 10th at [location TBD]. Additional information on the Super Derby will be distributed when it is available.
